In-person assignments are based on a half-day or full-day rate.
Online assignments can be charged by the hour.
Contact me here for the current Schedule of Fees.
Provide me with some information about the assignment (date, duration, location, subject area) and I can provide a quote (on a booking form) and my full Schedule of Fees.
Review the quote and sign and return the booking form to secure the booking.
For any questions or enquiries you can either fill out a form on the enquiries page or send me an email here.
Cancellation fees are an unfortunate necessity, as once an assignment is booked other work, both interpreting and translating, is turned down.
Most assignments are of a highly sensitive nature and confidentiality is absolute.
The AUSIT Code of Ethics outlines the requirements for impartiality and confidentiality. Click below if you would like to view them yourself.
Know how to brief and use an interpreter.
Here is a brief guide on using a qualified interpreter:
Be assured that the strictest confidentiality is adhered to. (A confidentiality agreement can also be signed.)
Provide a briefing and materials so that the interpreter can prepare.
A briefing would include information such as:
Names of participants
The topic
The purpose of meeting
Materials would include information such as:
An agenda for the meeting
Minutes of previous meetings
Any prepared presentations or presentation notes (e.g., PowerPoints)
During the meeting, speak directly to the client/audience (i.e., don’t speak “to” or “via” the interpreter).
For consecutive interpreting, allow pauses (for interpreting) between chunks of information (e.g., a paragraph’s worth of information).
